Patrick Cox Legal Costs

For all your legal billing

Criminal legal aid billing

If it involves crime, we can bill it. So, we do:

  • Police Station and Magistrates’ Court billing – preparing and submitting the monthly “submission”
  • Crown Court billing – Advocate and Litigator Graduated Fee Schemes
  • POCA, Court appointed, DCOs, Non-Fixed Fee Advocate claims
  • Any other bills you might have – e.g. billing of ASBIs

Why you should use us

  • We only invoice you once your payment has been authorised by the LAA or other relevant body. Waiting to get paid can be a pain, we believe in sharing the pain. We do not do the bill, submit it and walk away. We continually check all claims we have submitted. If you don’t get paid, neither do we.
  • We agree in advance a fee structure that works for you and which takes account of your case profile
  • All reductions by the LAA are considered and if there is any prospect of success, we will lodge an appeal – regardless of the sums involved
  • All claims involving electronic evidence, are prepared by Patrick Cox. The approach of the LAA in respect of electronic evidence can seem opaque to the occasional biller. Patrick has prepared over 100 such claims and has learned that, in fact, the LAA tend to take a very consistent approach to these claims – so preparing claims to meet with that approach is the best guarantee of success
  • If all other routes have been exhausted and we still think you can win, Patrick will take the case to a Costs Judge. He has huge experience of appearing before Costs Judges and will ensure all appropriate arguments are put forward in your favour.
  • We provide a free “phone a friend” service for all billing queries and any compliance issues you may have.
